Wim Wenders' celebrated new film "Perfect Days" is a homage to simple things, to everyday life with its set structure and its everyday human encounters. A film that relies more on the power of images than on long dialogs and has an almost documentary feel. Wenders tells the story of the main character Hirayama, who works as a toilet cleaner in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo. He loves rock music on cassette tapes, trees, which he photographs with his analog camera, and books. An everyday hero who leads a simple life and is passionate about cleaning the 17 public toilets of THE TOKYO TOILET Project.

The public toilets, designed by world-famous star architects and designers, were fully equipped by our long-standing customer TOTO and realized with its extensive expertise in the sanitary sector. TOTO's WASHLETS play an essential role, and the main character, played by Kōji Yakusho, takes devoted care of them. Kōji Yakusho was awarded Best Male Actor at this year's Cannes International Film Festival for his quiet, introverted performance. In addition, "Perfect Days" will be submitted for the Oscar in the foreign film category and will face the jury in Hollywood in March 2024.

It is a gentle yet powerful movie that warms the heart - just the thing for cold, long winter evenings. Go to the movies and embrace the clarity of the simple things in life, then every day is a perfect day.

Our customer TOTO is giving away 25x2 tickets for a visit to the cinema until December 15, 2023.

The film will be released in Germany on 21.12.2021.
