Media Information of our clients

Press relations in a twin pack

This summer, as a PR agency, we had the honour of reporting on the same project for two of our clients and had to adopt different perspectives for reporting. The object of desire: the extension of the Pile Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen on Lake Constance.

The Stuttgart-based architecture firm a+r Architekten, which we have been supporting with public relations since 2020, developed the remarkable timber architecture. For our media information 'From the Bronze Age to the Modern Age', we took a look at the big picture. Our PR article tells the story of the project, explains the construction and organisation of the building, and gives both the planners and the director of the museum a chance to speak.

The architecture of the new Pile Dwelling Museum is set back slightly from the lake so as not to dominate the replica pile dwellings of the open-air museum. The new building was designed by a+r Architekten from Stuttgart.

For our client luxwerk, we reported on the extension of the Pile Dwelling Museum from a different perspective. The dedicated manufacturer of customised luminaires developed and produced lighting installations for the museum together with Stuttgart-based exhibition designers jangled nerves. For our report 'Moving underwater world', our journalistic eye went into much more detail - why and how the lights were made. The light sculptures create a wave effect in the new exhibition hall, as if you were walking on the bottom of Lake Constance.

The eye-catching feature of the timber building, which has almost 1,300 square metres of floor space, is its open roof truss with an expressive glulam frame construction. Also impressive are the special luxwerk luminaires, which project a special wave effect onto the terrazzo floor.

All in all, we hope that both press releases will make you want to visit this really successful project! We highly recommend it. We didn't miss the chance to visit and were at Lake Constance shortly after the opening, in beautiful summer and cycling weather.

Rainer Häupl from bering*kopal visited the Pfahlbaumuseum over the summer on his vintage racing bike. His conclusion: It is well worth a visit. Both the architecture by a+r Architekten and the exhibition design and details have been realised with a great deal of dedication and passion, and you can feel that immediately. And, of course, the location on Lake Constance is a dream!

And last but not least, a big thank you to the media, who have already been busy picking up on our two press releases and reporting on the museum.
