Sustainable communication

Even if the topic of sustainability is on everyone's lips - or is overused here and there - it is still a major concern for us as an agency that our customers take the topic seriously and manage and act in accordance with internationally recognized sustainability rules. And to communicate about what they have achieved. As they say in public relations, "Do good and talk about it."

This makes it all the more enjoyable for us to work with companies like Bauwerk Parkett! The Swiss company recently published its sixth sustainability report. It shows what the group of companies has achieved in 2022 - but also conveys what ambitions are being pursued to further reduce the impact on the environment.

We like the fact that the parquet manufacturer deals openly and transparently with what has been achieved and, above all, also with what has not been achieved - and does not fall into the greenwashing trap. With the new Sustainability Report 2022, however, the Bauwerk Group can point to a number of successes. In the area of "environmental impact", the Bauwerk Group is already aiming to completely dispense with fossil energy sources in production by mid-2024. In the area of "Logistics", a lot has also been done since the last reporting period. In Switzerland and Norway, for example, the transport of goods has become much more environmentally friendly: For the Swiss market, savings of 40% CO2 have been achieved through a higher proportion of rail transport. And by relying more on ships than trucks to serve the Scandinavian market from the Lithuanian plant, savings of over 60% in CO2 per container have been achieved.

A significant reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases was achieved by the logistics department of the Bauwerk Group: In 2022, a combined transport of truck-ship-truck was used for the first time instead of a pure truck transport. This significantly reduced emissions by over 60 % per container.

By 2026, for example, Bauwerk Group aims to publish its sustainability report based on the demanding data and reporting standard of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

"Until then, we will continue to put all our energy into producing the best floors from what I consider the most beautiful material in the world - and we will do so with full commitment and passion for greater sustainability!" says Patrick Hardy, CEO of Bauwerk Group.

For all the beauty and precision of Bauwerk Parkett's parquet floors, sustainable production is important to the Swiss company.
